Earlier this year, I wrote an article about Life Saver games. Who would have guessed that one of the big Life Savers announcements in 2025 would relate to a game?

Parade Magazine reported that October 2025 will bring "X's and O's", a 🆕 Life Savers Gummies product. While Life Savers Virtual Museum does not focus on products that are not boiled sweets (like Wild Cherry) or pressed dextrose (like Wintergreen), we found this story interesting because this is not the first time Life Savers has had a tic-tac-toe, interactive candy product. Canadian Life Savers sold a "Game Series" of storybooks, with red and black hard candies. (Man, I wish that I knew what flavors they were for sure...in the meantime, I am guessing wild cherry and licorice.) But there was another difference: they were just called O's and O's...unlike the new product, there were no X's. Each of the Story Books included 6 rolls of candy, totaling 150 g.
There was also another game in the series, Checkers.
Gratefully, I was granted permission to use the photos of each of these storybooks, by food historian Jason Liebig, of Collectingcandy.com. If you happen to know anything about this set, especially if you have photos of the candy inside, please let me know.

One other game update: Candystand
During the Nabisco years, Life Savers featured a gaming site called Candystand.com. This was advertised in multiple venues, including on the candy packages.
If this link won't work, copy and paste it into your browser. It demonstrates what candystand.com looked like. Specifically, it featured a series of games developed in Shockwave™️. Since it no longer exists, the Wayback Machine approximates the site back then.
