It's clear from the magazine advertisements that AssortMints were boiled candies...the mints were translucent and colorful. What type of mints were included?

The United States ads indicate there were "4 kinds of icy, spicy mints." The colors pictured are Christmas green, red, moss green, and frosty clear. But the label doesn't specify flavors.

The Canadian label shows, "Peppermint, Spearmint, Wintergreen, Cinnamon, Clove"...in other words, 5 flavors. And by the way, no ⭕'s were used in the spellings of flavors.

In other words, I don't know 2 things:

  • which flavor was left out of the US product?
  • which color corresponded to each flavor?

And here does the pale blue boiled candy CrystMint fit into all of this?

Mint Mix appears to have been a set of 6 rolls, available in a cellophane package for family use. I'm fairly sure these were the pressed dextrose mints. So, different topic.

Later, during the Nabisco years, there was a set called ChillMints. These boiled candies contained Wintergreen, Spearmint, Vanilla Mint and Peppermint. In other words, they reused those Assort⭕Mint flavors and added Vanilla Mint. (Again, no ⭕'s were used in the spellings of the flavors.)

Butter Creme Mint was also sold in the United States...and I, for one, loved it! Buttermint was sold in Canada. Were these the same product? I could check the ingredients...

At any rate, these flavors were not included in the assortments.

Feel free to let me know if you can clear any of this up! In the meantime, Life Savers still has plenty of mysteries for us to explore...enough to maintain our enjoymint. ;)
