Life Savers at Christmas have long been a tradition. LifeSaversStoryBooks are a big part of the holiday season. And another part are Christmas ornaments.
Handmade Ornaments
In the 1950s to 1980s, people started making Christmas ornaments out of rolls of Life Savers, both the mini-rolls and full-size rolls. If you have one of these, I'd love to see it! Contact me ✉️
This one was made sometime during the Beech-Nut years, 1956-1968.
I found multiples of them on the internet; most of the time they seem to be made of Five Flavors, but I like this one, because Stick⭕Pep is a very good Christmas flavor. In more recent years, I believe Stick⭕Pep has been known as Candy Cane; however the formularies/recipes may be different.
Mass-produced Ornaments
Enesco had the rights to produce 2 Life Savers-themed ornaments in the 1990s "Treasury of Christmas Ornaments" series:
- A joy a'matie, which features a sailboat made from 3 Life Savers Five Flavor rolls on the bottom and a Pep⭕Mint sail
- Starring roll at Christmas, with individual clear Five Flavor Life Savers forming a Christmas tree
