Artist's Statement:
This is part of my VCU Drawing Unplugged class series, where we worked on still lifes. We were asked to use charcoal to flesh out the scene we set up, after we sketched it out with graphite. The most amusing item in the bunch was the viking helmet perched on top, which reminded me of a hoard of treasure that had been pillaged from unsuspecting villages. Hence, the name. It was difficult to learn to shade, but it was a good learning experience.
